Ecological Web Hosting -
Our Green Carbon Neutral Webhotels Protect Nature
These days, eco-friendliness and IT-services are rarely found in one same sentence. However, you can now choose ecological carbon-neutral web hosting services and help us protect nature.
What makes hosting, also known as web hotel services, so eco-friendly?
We at Easylinehost strive to give more than we take. We make every effort to operate as sustainably as possible. The cooling of our data center is carried out with outdoor air and lightning with LED lights. The appliances in our data center are used smartly and at the end of their lifespan, they are recycled. We compensate our emissions with a 160-hectare forest plot in Kainuu Finland.
Our forests are never clear-cut, instead we are transferring them with a continuous growth method. In other words, we let the forest grow. Hence, our forests are in a more natural state compared to the clear-cut forests for example. The trees are cut only for overall better growth which in turn sinks more carbon dioxide. A study carried out in southern Finland pine forests found that pinewood can annually bind in its photosynthesis 9,5 tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere per hectare.
Ecological Hosting - Green Values
Ecological hosting means that the company is carbon neutral and that the business is run ethically and responsible. By using ecological hosting provider you can cut your online carbon footprint.
For a business to be able to carry on for decades, it must operate truly sustainably. By making green choices, our company attracts skilled workers sharing our values and passion for green IT services.
We believe that the values of our forests are much more diverse than the sole worth of their timber. Our forest plot is situated by a nature reserve. We find it important that our forest is a natural continuum to the nature reserve and therefore we keep the forest area as unaltered as possible.
In the spring you can come across a flashy show when the western capercaillie starts its courtship. Western capercaillie needs a lot of forest and space to live in. To court, the species requires 50 hectares of undivided forest. We want to play our part in the reservation of the courting areas and western capercaillie living habitats. This way we secure the birds’ ability to reproduce.
Building future for the next generations
Our company is a family business. The company was founded by my husband Mika. His father is involved in operating the data center and many other running errands of the business. Mika’s children have been involved in the company through internships and summer jobs. Our family also includes our toddler son, who learns about forestry from an early age on. In the picture, he is making firewood with us. At the picture below is me Joanna, Mika and our VP Tiina.
We want to build a company that operates in a sustainable way. We hope that one day in the distant future when it’s our time to retire, we have a young successor for the company. Maybe one of our children or children of our employees wants to take the lead.
In any case, I hope that as our children raise their own children and grandchildren, they can find joy in the same natural values we enjoy today – forests where you can see lynx’ footprints on clear snow, hear capercaillie shriek, pick berries from pure nature and hunt and fish for your own needs.
I hope you share our agenda and strive to leave clean, wild forests for the next generations to enjoy. By using our services, you are directly involved in supporting the Finnish forests.
The choices for the future are made today, together. Check out our services and become part of the Easylinehost family.
