To court, the species requires 50 hectares of undivided forest. We want to play our part in the reservation of the courting areas and western capercaillie living habitats. Our company is a family business. The company was founded by my husband Mika. His father is involved in operating the data center and many other running errands of the business. Mika’s children have been involved in the company through internships and summer jobs. Our family also includes our toddler son, who learns about forestry from an early age on. In the picture, he is making firewood with us. At the picture below is me Joanna, Mika and our VP Tiina.

We want to build a company that operates in a sustainable way. We hope that one day in the distant future when it’s our time to retire, we have a young successor for the company. Maybe one of our children or children of our employees wants to take the lead.

In any case, I hope that as our children raise their own children and grandchildren, they can find joy in the same natural values we enjoy today – forests where you can see lynx’ footprints on clear snow, hear capercaillie shriek, pick berries from pure nature and hunt and fish for your own needs.
